The Cabbage Soup Diet is designed as a way to help you lose weight through the cleansing power of cabbage. You can eat fruits, vegetables, some meat and even a day of rice on different days of the diet.

Cabbage soup can be prepared in various ways. Try using half a head of cabbage, some onion, some stock or chicken stock, celery, bell peppers, and a can or two of tomatoes. Add or remove these vegetables according to your taste. Also you can add any spices you like to the recipe for flavor.

Day Three: On day three, you can eat your soup as usual, plus fruits and vegetables. However, you are not allowed your baked potato today.

Day Four: On day four, your diet consists of eating only bananas and skim milk. You can also still have your soup. Eat up to six bananas if you want, and drink as much skim milk as you want.

Day Five: Day five of the diet involves eating up to twenty ounces of beef and six fresh tomatoes. This day you need to be especially on top of drinking all of your water to flush the uric acid out of your body.

Eat your soup again today, at least twice. You can also substitute grilled (skinless) chicken or fish for the beef. However you cannot eat two different types of meat. Pick just one and eat it up to the allotted twenty ounces.

Sixth day: On this day, you can eat meat and vegetables along with soup. Choose a meat as described above and eat plenty of vegetables. When eating vegetables, however, try to avoid those that are high in starch. That means no potatoes, no sweet potatoes, and probably go easy on the carrots.

Seventh day: On the seventh day, you can add brown rice to your diet. Eat as much as you like and eat your soup too.

The seventh day is the last day of the diet and you can eat as much soup and rice as you like. You can also eat unsweetened vegetable and fruit juices as described above.

After this week you should see very noticeable results. Most people will have lost between 5 and 7 pounds during the week, although many people have lost up to ten pounds in just seven days.

The key to success on this diet is to follow the rules exactly and drink plenty of water. You can also take a good quality multivitamin to make sure you aren’t missing out on any of the nutrients your body needs.

Remember that while this is a great way to get started with your weight loss plan, it’s not a diet designed for long-term use. One week is the recommended amount of time and it is not recommended to go beyond that.

Since the diet only lasts for a week, however, it may make it more doable for those who have difficulty following diet and weight loss plans. Just make sure that after the seven days you maintain a healthy diet and add regular exercise to your week to ensure lasting results.
