Weight Loss Workout & Fat Burning Tips

Don’t do extra cardio if you’re a pig. Don’t be afraid and think that you have to punish yourself. There are better ways to boost fat burning than starvation and excessive exercise.

Today, we will cover…

1 – What to do when you eat too much

2 – The best long-term exercise

3 – Fat Burners for Babyboomers

Q #1: Is it good to do a lot of cardio if you eat too many calories one day?

Answer:

Thanks for the email.

I don’t like to see exercise as a form of punishment or purge for overeating.

Here are 2 ways to solve it better:

1) If it happens once a month, it’s not a big deal. Just go about your normal life and stay consistent with your regular exercise routine.

2) If it happens once a week, or several times a week, it is a nutritional problem that needs to be corrected, and excessive exercise is not the answer.

Lift your body, but don’t hit it.

Q #2: What is the best interval training program for fat loss?

Answer:

No interval training method has been proven to be the best for fat loss… but it’s clear that interval training has been shown to be better than regular cardio for rapid fat loss.

So using different intervals for fat loss is like using different rep ranges for muscle growth. That’s what I want.

In this way, you train your muscle metabolism in three different energy systems and put your body to the ultimate fat breakdown. This ensures that you will increase your metabolism, while you burn more calories – and carbohydrates and fats – during and after exercise. So forget the myths about the HR zone for fat loss. The intensity of all intervals.

Q #3: Craig, I started with a beginner fat burning workout several weeks ago (I’m going to finish week four this week and then plan to move on to an advanced fat burning workout during week 4).

Over the past 14 months I have lost 85 pounds. As part of my weight loss period, I started walking almost every day and progressed to exercise and hill running in addition to walking. Have worked with dumbbells. Made decent progress. I need to continue losing another 20-30 pounds. All this is background.

My question is I read about 50 (I’m 49) needing more recovery time between workouts. I feel great doing the Turbulence exercises – just checking with you to see if there is anything to recommend to people my age doing these exercises. I think it’s good to do 3 times a week because the intensity is high, but the duration is not high.

Any insight would be helpful. I want to continue doing something that I can do for as long as possible.

Answer:

Thanks for the email. Nice progress, congratulations.

Everything seems fine. Fortunately, fat burning workouts are designed to give you more recovery than your typical 5 day a week workout. Use the day off for recovery (walk the dog, go to work, etc.).

Every couple of months, take a week off, do some high intensity exercise and do something else to improve your recovery.

Keep up the great work!
