Step #1: Identify the gluten

We begin by identifying gluten. It is a protein found in most grains such as wheat, barley and rye. It is highly processed and bad on the digestive system. Everything from cookies and muffins to baked goods, bread, pasta, crackers and other wheat-products we know and love contain gluten (unless otherwise stated!!) Even eating “whole-wheat” bread is bad for you and can prevent you from losing weight! It still has glue! Worse, gluten can be found in some soups and sauces, such as soy sauce! Step #2: Remove gluten

Take a close look at the foods you are eating right now. Once you’ve identified where gluten is in your diet, it’s time to eliminate it. It doesn’t have to be a cold turkey approach. Start small! Remove half the bread from your sandwich or stop eating pancakes for breakfast. But the ultimate goal is to completely eliminate it from your diet.

Step #3: Replace the gluten

Now, the third and final step is the most important step of all! If you simply eliminate gluten, you’re stuck with a NO-CARB diet…we all know that doesn’t work! You need to replace breads and pastries (and other gluten-filled goods) so you still get the carbs and energy you need to power through your day! Replace gluten-free foods with the following healthy foods…

Brown rice

Navane rice

Legumes (black beans, pinto beans, etc.)

Rice flour (rice tortillas, etc.)

Products labeled “gluten-free”.
