People get excited about many things but I have never met someone who gets excited about being overweight. I have met people who are sick and tired of the ups and downs of dieting. Lose a couple of pounds today and gain a few pounds tomorrow. What about that point when you plateau. In other words, when no matter what you do or try you don’t move a single ounce down. The list of diet books, plans, programs, shakes, pills, DVDs, mixes and philosophies goes on. Are we any thinner or healthier for them? Not according to health experts and trusted medical journals. What we have is an obesity epidemic. Since many people, including our children, are overweight, you must feel overwhelmed. Who and what source do you trust anymore? Want another food book? I don’t think so. You don’t need another diet book; You need to change your lifestyle. You don’t need to be told why and how to diet; You need to learn how to change your eating habits. Change your “stinking thinking” about food. Don’t take my words personally. They are meant to give you a wake-up call. But in all seriousness you need to relearn food and nutrition.

With all the diet books on the market, why are you having trouble getting and maintaining your ideal weight? You’ve seen how the marketing media bombards you on a daily basis that you don’t know what to believe anymore. I hear people say all the time, “I don’t know what to eat.” My aim is to shed some light on what nutrition really is, what foods to eat and what foods to avoid. The truth is that most people on a diet are eating foods that make them gain weight or take them to their best before hitting a plateau. Another important point to remember when talking about true nutrition is to avoid illnesses that are common in the general population. These include but are not limited to high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease

My mission is to learn as much as I can about nutrition, exercise, health, optimal weight and its myths and its truths. I am not different from you. I’ve tried everything under the sun, been there and done that when it comes to dieting. Today I can say that I understand healthy nutrition and what pitfalls most of us have experienced. It is only after trial and error that I now realize all the mistakes I have made for so long. You don’t have to throw up your hands and commit yourself to living a roller coaster life of weight battles, pre-packaged foods, the latest fad diet and highs and lows. All you ever need is common sense. That’s how simple it is! Proper nutrition of your body affects all aspects of your life. Great feeling is a great feeling! I feel great even when my day isn’t going well. I feel happy when I go to work and finish my day. Because my body is able to cope with life events, stress and workload.

I understand that feeling great has everything to do with how I take care of myself, my body, my health- and the amazing thing is that you can feel great too. The bottom line is if you’re like me, you’ve changed what you eat but not your eating habits. After you stop dieting you’re back to the eating habits that got you into trouble in the first place. Also most diets don’t take your overall health into account; Making them “controlled hunger”. It only helps to slow down your metabolism. After you stop dieting you will gain back more pounds than when you started. You are experiencing symptoms of hunger when you are lethargic, tired and always hungry; Sound familiar? How can you expect to stay motivated and stay on a diet that doesn’t make you feel healthy?

Find information and educate yourself on how to change your eating habits for life. You can only achieve this when you understand what you are doing wrong and how bad it made you feel. Learn what nutrition really is and learn something that will stay with you for life. Once you start this journey you will never want to go back. You will experience new and exciting foods that you never knew you could eat. Similarly, you may find that foods you thought were healthy are actually poisoning your body without realizing it.
