Get 6 Pack Abs by Removing 6 Bad Eating Habits
Willpower is one of the most important factors in really anything in life, but especially when it comes to exercise, diet, nutrition and more. I’m ready to help you get out of debt and have more willpower to eat healthier and exercise. Sure, getting out of debt is a big deal, but so is extending your life.
Boys and girls often fall into certain bad eating habits that keep the pounds on each day, week, month and year combined and your abs never show. Doesn’t it drive you crazy to pass by the magazine section in a supermarket or store and see men and women flaunting their lean and ripped physiques? I know it does for me. But like everything in life, you have to start taking baby steps to see progress. Start small… and as you progress you start making better choices and before you know it… you’ve got the results you want.
Below is a series of bad eating habits that we, the people, tend to do and need to avoid as soon as possible. If you are reading this article, I am sure they apply to you:
6 Bad Diet Habits to Break 6 Pack Abs
1. Speed eating
In short, the sooner you eat, the less time your body and mind have to determine how much you’ve eaten. So when you go from course #1 to course #2, imagine that your body/brain isn’t catching on to your fast eating and saying, “Oh, wait a minute…let’s rest here.” Before you know it…you’ve eaten 2000 calories and you don’t feel “stuffed”. We’ve all been there. Eat more slowly, savor your food. If you can’t taste it, eat in small portions.
No, I’m not saying give up alcohol completely (I personally think that’s a wonderful move), but how many times do you plan to have “a beer” or “a glass of wine” and before you know it, 3-4 beers are gone, or half a bottle of Chardonnay? is missing Guess what…you just cut a ton of calories. Write every time you have a drink. So, you have 2 drinks every night, big deal? Well, multiple times a day for a week and that could be 2000+ calories in your system. You have to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 lb of weight.
3. Skipping meals or snacks
It is natural to think that you will lose weight if you don’t eat but it is a terrible myth that people follow. When you skip meals, your body begins to regulate and manage your hunger. It kicks in your “hunger”, which as we all know keeps your willpower afloat. Also, you have to eat to lose weight. Yes, I said it, but you have to eat wisely. The right mix of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Spread small snacks/meals throughout the day every 2-3 hours. Keep portions small, but it will curb your appetite and fuel your body in the process.
4. Eating salty snacks
First, if you’re eating something you know is salty, it’s probably not healthy. Sodium is one of the things you know because it grows slowly. You eat this or that throughout the day without even thinking about the sodium content, and before you know it you’ve gone over the recommended allowance. Add in things like popcorn at the movie theater or a quick bag of chips on the way out the door, and your waistline will only swell. Salt forces your body to retain water, so if you want to show off your 6-pack abs, eating a bunch of salt will kill that idea.
5. Pigging out on the weekends
People often use their weekends as “down time,” and that’s understandable since a stressful work week can drain you both mentally and physically. The downside is that people tend to relax “too much” and skip snacks and pork. This is especially true when you go to a neighbor’s barbecue or birthday party or just hang out. How often do you go to a party and “graze”. You hover around the food area, but over time all those calories add up and before you know it… your fullness increases. Eat something healthy before going to a party and it will help keep bad food at bay.
6. Eating in front of TV – sleeping
Everyone is guilty of this. You’re trying to relax after a hard day at the office, your favorite show is on, or you’ve slapped on your favorite Blu-ray disc and you’ve got a bag of chips on your lap. Before I know it, half the bag is gone, the 2 beers drunk are empty, and I’m falling asleep. Your body needs to be awake for at least 2 hours after eating your last meal. Your body naturally burns calories even when you are sitting. While awake, your body burns calories to maintain your organs, walking, breathing, etc… So eat your last meal at 7-8pm and you can start sleeping at 10pm. If you fall asleep after eating, you won’t burn all the calories you’ve eaten as quickly.
Do your best to eliminate those 6 bad eating habits, and I can 100% guarantee you, 6 pack abs will include a healthy diet and exercise plan.
