Does an emotional connection with food give you immediate satisfaction and comfort? Making sure your emotional needs are being met means you don’t resort to food as second nature.

3. You fail to develop sustainable habits that will keep the weight off after you lose it

If you really want to lose weight, changing negative habits will make losing weight easier. Sustainable habits need to be practiced until they become automatic, programmed into our subconscious mind so that you literally do them without thinking. These practices include holding a glass of water, a book, a magazine, or a hug from a loved one or friend. Instead of opting for a snack in front of the TV, you immediately opt for an alternative.
