I have met quite a few dieters who will do nothing to lose weight. Dieters are probably the only people on the planet willing to sacrifice as much as they do.

They have incredible willpower, and they work diligently with their diet and exercise.

Even when they are literally setting themselves up to fail.

Why would you set yourself up to fail to listen?

It’s very simple… what you resist, persists. So every dieter who removes a food they love from their diet is constantly motivated to eat it. And using every ounce of their strength not to give in to a natural human tendency: wanting what you can’t have.

Now maybe if you go long enough without eating that food you think you’ve probably gotten over it. But wait for that one day when you’re at a party and there’s food and everyone enjoys it freely. Or maybe you’ve had a couple of drinks and your crew drops by and someone presents you with food off the menu at a restaurant. At that point you can finally stop resisting it and then you’ll refer to that day as the day you “blew.”

But let’s say you’ve resisted temptation and it’s 30 days of completely healthy eating and consistent exercise. Think to yourself… “Of course I’ll lose weight, I’ll eat less junk food, smaller portions and exercise.” You hop on that scale and there it is… seeing yourself on the scale with the same number you had 30 days ago. You feel that something is wrong with you. Maybe I have a health problem.

The world we live in teaches us that if we eat less and move more we will lose weight completely. This simple formula is fool proof. And if that doesn’t work for you, you’ve done something wrong. And you look for what you did wrong… “Well I broke down and had a soda one day” or “I could have worked harder or longer” and the madness begins.

The reason you’re not losing weight is because weight loss isn’t a simple science. If it were there would be a bunch of naturally thin people who are overweight and a bunch of skinny dieters. There is more to this weight loss topic.

Most importantly it is a unique blend of science, psychology, spirituality and sexuality.

It’s more than just science. It’s about how you treat your body and yourself. What are your thought patterns and what deep subconscious beliefs have you buried through a wall of emotions. It’s about letting go of control and trusting yourself and your body. It’s about finding your creativity and joy with food, exercise and life.

Your weight is a message to help you live your best life. It’s motivation to change your life, not your diet and exercise. It’s a communication that you’re not living fully and it’s time to stop hiding and finally fully express who you are and who you want to be. And this is definitely not a message to be taken lightly.

The moment you realize that your weight is more than a physical thing, you finally find peace with the fact that changing a couple of things in your outer world will never be a real long-term solution.

It is a mixture of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.

So continue to eat healthy food and move regularly as it is good for your health.

Because you value yourself enough to take care of yourself in the most effective way.

Because you deserve a better quality of life.

Not for weight loss. Then, diet and exercise will never fail you.

And be honest about the real life changes you need to make in your life to live life to the fullest. Take your focus off your weight and turn it to what’s going on in your life. How are you spending your days? Thrive or Survive? Survival mode never creates long-term results.

And lastly, thank your body for not releasing the weight with a simple change in diet and exercise. There is so much more to life and so much more to live for. And now you have the motivation to go after it. If the weight comes off, will you really make the big changes you need to make to live life to the fullest?
