But, for those who want to act like they don’t know what to do, stick to a diet high in complex carbohydrates, high in fiber, moderate in protein, and low in fat.

Eat Baked Potatoes Instead of French Fries Baked potatoes are a complex carbohydrate. Fat is sour cream and butter that you shouldn’t put on top. The fiber is vegetable. Protein is a lean cut of meat. Fat is the gravy you shouldn’t pour on it.

My number one tip for real is to eat lots of fruit throughout the day for weight loss (not that canned stuff with high fructose syrup) real fruit. Bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries, pears, etc. Replace at least one of your meals with a protein shake and eat two properly proportioned meals. Oh yeah, lots of water too. This will make you feel full.

I just have to say this. Don’t fall into the trap of buying all this so-called fat-free stuff and thinking it’s the cure for all your weight problems. It is not. In fact, most products that claim to be fat-free are not. It’s true that skim milk is less fattening than regular vitamin D milk. Use it in your smoothies. But fat-free bacon? PLEASE!!! This is an oxymoron.

As misleading as it may be, “fat-free” doesn’t mean “non-fattening.” Thing is, you often get just as many calories from the fat-free version.

Fat-free can be a trap if you start believing you can eat whatever you want anytime you want as long as it’s written fat-free. You are setting yourself up for failure before you even start..

If all else fails and you find yourself feeling hungry and just can’t tolerate the stomach aches that you’re sagging (JK) grab yourself a granola bar or drink some more water. Anything healthy will do. Don’t even think about Subway’s low-fat menu! It’s not happening, my friend

Remember, if you want to lose weight naturally, you need to keep track of every food you eat and every activity you do. Weigh yourself regularly and reward yourself with something as you make progress. That ladder is a great motivator

Losing weight naturally is a process. So, set some goals for yourself and go get them. I’m rooting for you! If I can do it, you can do it!
