Mistake #1: I don’t eat often

When you don’t eat often, your body becomes starved. What happens is that the body starts to store extra fat. The reason for this is because body fat is a quick and easy source of energy in times of hunger. Worked hundreds of years ago, not so good today for people who are not afraid of starving.

The best you can do is eat 4-5 small meals…or 3 small meals and 3 healthy meals.

Mistake #2: Focus on countless hours of cardio

Long, steady, low-intensity cardio is not good for weight loss or if you’re trying to lose belly fat. It is very catabolic. This means eating the muscles for fiber. Since a pound of muscle burns 30-50 more calories per day than a pound of fat, you inadvertently lower your metabolism and burn fewer calories.

Instead, do high intensity interval training. To do this, simply go “all out” with any cardio exercise you do. Do this for 10 seconds. After that, slow it down and exert a little force on the machine for about 20 seconds. Keep repeating this cycle for at least 5 minutes.

25 minutes of this will help give you “follow the fire”. What is it, this…you burn body fat for 18 hours or more AFTER you do this routine. You don’t get that after slow, steady cardio like jogging on a treadmill for 20 minutes at the same pace.

Mistake #3: Not enough fiber in the diet

The average woman should get at least 35 grams of fiber per day. The average American gets 12 grams of fiber per day. It just doesn’t cut it. Fiber cleanses your system and improves the efficiency of your digestive system by eliminating waste and toxins. Of course, it accelerates your weight loss.

The easiest way to get your 35 or more servings of fiber a day is to eat 1 cup of black beans a day. Each 15-ounce bottle contains 25 grams of fiber. It’s only 48 cents at Wal-Mart.
