BSN’s N.O. Xplode – Consumed on an Empty Stomach

I don’t currently take Xplode and notice the label says I should consume it on an empty stomach.. is it okay if I take them with my pre-workout meal which is a protein shake?

Ok.. I think it’s time to address this issue before it gets out of hand. NO Xplode must be consumed on an EMPTY STOMACH, which means that the last meal you had must have been at least 2 hours before. So, NO, it’s not good to consume it alongside your protein shake as you will only reduce its effectiveness.

I have lost count of the emails, text messages and phone calls I have received over the last few weeks from my friends who need help with BSN supplements, especially NO Xplode. To all of you who have NOT had Xplode actually EXPLODE in your face while mixing… didn’t I tell you NOT to shake it in your shaker, MIX it with a spoon? To those of you who have had Xplode stain your clothes, explode in your gym locker, mess up your kitchen and explode in your car (ok.. that was me.. haha) – honestly, you guys are a fun bunch.

Well, I have to admit it can be tricky for those of you who don’t monitor or monitor meals as carefully as I do. For example, my meals are always about 3 hours apart and I will only drink large amounts of water 2 hours after each meal because it takes about 2 hours for your stomach contents to clear – petty stuff that I sometimes take quite seriously .

I have a friend who wakes up in the morning, eats 2 slices of bread and immediately goes to the gym to train. This was exactly what he asked when he first started integrating with Xplode.

Then there are those of you who eat whenever you feel hungry, and sometimes skip meals altogether, or just grab a quick bite just to fill your stomach before your workout. be consumed on an empty stomach before training?

A little fiddly, but just needs some getting used to.

For the past few months, I’ve also consumed a protein shake before my workouts. There is scientific research that suggests that taking protein before you lift weights may be just as important, if not more so, than taking it right after.

When you lift weights, blood flow to your working muscles increases dramatically and this helps “push” all the amino acids circulating into your muscle cells. But you need to have adequate amino acids circulating in your blood to optimize this effect. This is why you should eat some protein (protein is made up of amino acids) before exercising. This will support faster muscle growth… and who wouldn’t want that?

Ok, so for those of you who are a little confused and find it hard to manipulate your time, consume protein shakes AND supplement with NO-Xplode, here’s what I suggest you do:

(1) 60 minutes before your workout, have your protein shake, mixed with water and not milk. (milk takes longer to digest and you want it to digest quickly to make room for Xplode).

(2) 30 minutes after your protein shake, take your NO-Xplode (however you usually need a lot of scoops). Your pre-workout protein shake would have been cleared/digested as it is liquid only and won’t take up to 2 hours like a normal meal to reach an empty stomach.

(3) If you’re also supplementing with Cellmass, consume 1 serving right after your workout. Cellmass is BSN’s post-workout creatine supplement to replace the creatine stores lost during training, speed up recovery, bulk up muscle cells, increase muscle density/hardness and many other funky things.

(4) 30 minutes after consuming Cellmass, consume your post-workout protein shake/meal.
