If you’ve ever tried to lose weight but failed, it might not be your fault. Losing weight can be a big challenge if you don’t have the right know how.

Maintaining the right weight/height ratio is very important. We now know that there are a number of health problems that can arise as a result of being overweight and obese. But how can we lose weight and keep it off? This is the concern of most people trying to lose weight.

Weight gain is the result of two main things. Once we know what caused our weight gain, then we can work to reverse this process. That’s too many calories and or not enough energy burned.

The first is more calories in and fewer calories out.

This simply means that if you are consuming more calories than you consume on a daily basis, you will gain weight. Your body will turn the extra calories into fat and store it. This is just what your body was made for. Your body is designed to use or conserve any potential usable energy source you take in. So how can we get around this? Reducing the amount of calories you take in. Simple? Not really.

For most people, reducing food intake is difficult and often leads to failure, so addressing this problem requires work on replacing the foods you eat in volume with other foods of equal or greater volume but fewer calories.

For example, let’s say you eat two cream filled donuts, or 600 calories, at about 5 ounces total food volume. But what if you had to replace that type of food with a big bowl or salad. You’d end up with 6-7 ounces of volume but only about 100 calories. So I’ve kept the volume the same so you know you’ll be just as full, but I’ve changed the type of food.

This technique is great for losing weight quickly. Using this tactic you can reduce the amount of your calorie intake by 50% per day, without starving yourself without ever feeling hungry.
