Getting Rid of Man Boobs – 3 Mistakes To Avoid

It’s unfathomable that in this “information age” and with all the advances in health and wellness, getting rid of man boobs can be such a seemingly complex topic. Just Google “get rid of man boobs” and you’ll find stockpiles of useless information that won’t get you any closer to actually getting rid of man boobs.

So maybe you pick up a diet book or get a gym membership and start working out. I hope you are just doing something different than what you were doing before. But the problem is, you probably are something wrong.

Don’t worry, it’s fine. Making mistakes is totally OK, and you better be doing something to get the wheels moving. It’s better than doing nothing and giving up completely.

If you’re on your way to getting rid of your male boobs, I’ve found three mistakes most guys make and you should learn to avoid them as much as possible. In doing so, in my opinion, the chances that you have a trunk to show off rather than hide will greatly increase.

1.) “Diet”

The first thing most everyone thinks of when trying to lose weight (or maybe get rid of man boobs) is that they need to go on a “diet.” Sometimes a “diet” means a change in the types of food we eat, but more commonly I’ve found that people think it means eating less. Much less.

The truth is, if you want to lose weight and fat you’re going to have to eat less, but it’s usually a lot less than you think. If you are currently eating 2200 calories a day and decide to cut them down to 1000, you are setting yourself up not only for failure, but for possible health problems as well.

The fact is, eating 500 to 1000 fewer calories than you eat now is probably enough to lose fat and weight. There are a lot of other factors here, so don’t think that you can just eat 500 fewer calories, still eat crappy food, and that you’ll suddenly slim down. We are talking about the amount you’re eating.

The point is DON’T HUNGER. If you want to know how many calories you should eat per day to lose weight, simply Google “Basal Metabolic Rate Calculator”. Here you’ll find out exactly how many calories you need to stay at your current weight.

However, if you’re like me and hate “counting calories,” the easy way to not overeat is to simply eat every meal or snack to feel comfortably full. Stop eating to fill yourself up so you’re bursting and you don’t have to count calories.

2.) 0 to 60mph

Your body is not a performance car, sorry to tell you. While the human body is a complex (and downright fascinating) machine, you can’t go from zero to sixty miles an hour in the blink of an eye.

Ok, I admit this is a bit silly, but I say this to illustrate a point. Getting rid of man boobs will require a lifestyle change from where you are now, but it doesn’t have to be done all at once and changes won’t happen overnight.

If your current life consists of a couple of hours in front of the TV and little to no exercise, it’s hard to expect you to start exercising every day for an hour. If you currently use the Mcdonald’s drive-thru as your main food source, I can’t imagine you’ll last long on a low-carb or less-sodium diet. If you want to do that that’s great! But it’s not something you want to change overnight.

My biggest advice is to start small and change your goals weekly. Can you exercise for just 15 minutes a day, twice a week? Can you do it for a week and then do it for 20 minutes, three times a week? Can you eliminate or reduce the consumption of carbonated and fizzy drinks? How about fast food?

These are just a few ideas to get you thinking about what you can possibly change. If you stick to it every week and keep trying to do a little more, you might find that in just a month, you’ll see some pretty impressive results.

3.) Tapis Roulant

Why is the treadmill one of the most popular machines in most gyms? I do not understand. You jump onto a conveyor belt which basically lets you run in place for an extended period of time. There’s no change of scenery, no winding paths or trails, and of course, it’s totally predictable.

However, when most people want to lose weight or guys want to start getting rid of male boobs, they decide that they have to spend a lot of time on the treadmill. And the guys wonder why they fail?

Look, the treadmill (and running or jogging in general) are great forms of exercise, and I do them all the time, but you have to do exercise you LOVE. I can’t stress this enough.

There are so many alternatives to the treadmill it’s almost comical. You can go running outside, you can play basketball, soccer, tennis, ping pong, racquetball, baseball, softball and the list goes on and on. Use your brain creatively and do things you enjoy, which includes getting yourself moving and keeping your heart rate up.

If you decide that the treadmill is fun and fulfilling and you can continue to do it every single day, that’s great! The idea here is to do what pleases you while also working to get rid of the man boobs.

The whole point of this article is to help you get from where you are now to where you want to be. I’ve literally seen hundreds of guys try to improve their bodies in some way, and I’ve found that these three mistakes are pretty common. These are my recommendations, but I obviously think the best thing you should be doing is something, anything that involves living a healthier life. Keep doing something, even if it’s small, every day and with little fixes here and there as you go, you’ll be able to lose your man boobs.
