Neanderthin Diet – Your Guide to Caveman Diet
The Neanderthin diet also known as the caveman diet is a diet program created by Ray Audette. The name caveman diet is derived from the fact that the diet program encourages caveman-like dieters to achieve a lean, strong and healthy body.
The story of Ray Audette’s discovery of Neanderthin food goes back to when he was 33 years old. At age 33, he was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes. His doctor told him that his condition was incurable. When Audette heard the news, she decided to do research to find a better medicine.
His research eventually led him to adopt the caveman diet. The way of eating that our ancestors ate, before they settled in an agrarian society. Within a week her blood sugar levels were back to normal and after a month she had lost 25 pounds. The pain in her neck is finally gone and she notices that her muscle tone is improving.
According to Audette, our human ancestors (Paleolithic ancestors) lived longer, and were healthier than our agrarian Neolithic ancestors. He said Neolithic men were shorter and more prone to obesity. Paleolithic women also started menstruating earlier and had more children.
In order for modern men to adopt the caveman way of eating, Audette recommends eliminating foods that require human intervention to be edible. Food includes milk, beans, grains, potatoes, alcohol and sugar. Grains include wheat, corn, rice, oats, barley and millet.
Audette also believes that carbohydrates create cravings and warns that these foods have negative effects when eaten. The principle of the Neanderthin diet is that if the fruit or vegetable can be eaten without processing, it is safe. He explained that many vegetables and fruits are very poisonous if they are not stored and handled properly. It encourages fruit consumption when in season and limits fruit consumption in the winter to reduce excess fat.
The Neanderthin diet can be summarized in 10 commandments:
– You should eat meat and fish
– You should eat fruit
– You should eat vegetables
– You should eat nuts and seeds
– You should eat berries
– You should not eat grains
– You should not eat beans
– You should not eat potatoes
– You should not eat milk
– You should not eat sugar
So you can’t eat pizza, burgers or fries and you can’t drink beer or wine.
