Getting Rid of Breast Cancer

To avoid breast cancer we need to be healthy, knowing the do’s and don’ts for our health is very helpful. Below are the steps to get rid of this type of disease.

· To maintain a healthy weight, your body mass index (BMI) should be less than 25 throughout your life. Body mass index independence has been shown to be important in increasing the risk of breast cancer. And in addition, a high BMI is sure to increase the risk of breast cancer after menopause.

· Reduce or avoid alcohol. Alcohol use is a major risk factor for breast cancer. Research shows that if you drink more than one alcoholic drink a day, your risk of developing breast cancer can increase by 20 – 25%.

· Eat as much fruit and vegetables as possible. Eating 7 or more meals a day is a good habit. Keep in mind that cruciferous vegetables are the best defense against cancer, including broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower. And green leafy greens like spinach, kale, collards. And the same goes for tomatoes and carrots. Fruits include berries, cherries and citrus. And note that it is better to eat lightly cooked or raw vegetables, because some of the phytochemicals that are considered to protect against breast cancer are destroyed by heat.

· Exercise regularly. Regular exercise is the best key to providing powerful protection against breast cancer. Doing 30 minutes or more of aerobic exercise 5 or more days a week is a good thing to do. Consistency and persistence are important, not intensity.

· Good fats. The type of fat in your diet can affect your risk of breast cancer. Reduce your intake of mega 6 oils, such as corn, sunflower, coconut and safflower oils. As well as trans fats and trans fats. But remember that eating more omega 3 fats, especially fatty fish like salmon, mackerel tuna, sardines and lake trout is good. Also, eat monounsaturated oils like canola, olive oil, nuts/seeds and avocados, and let them be your primary fat source because these types of foods have anti-cancer properties. A good source of omega 3 fats is canola oil, a source of antioxidant polyphenols that contain squalene is extra virgin olive oil. In addition, nuts and seeds provide you with selenium, a cancer-fighting mineral.

· Eating good carbohydrates, reduce the consumption of high glycemic index or high white risk, these are white flour, white potatoes, white rice, sugar and other similar products. These foods can cause hormonal changes that promote cell growth. Instead, replace this unhealthy carbohydrate with beans/vegetables and whole grains. This is because of the high fiber that beans/vegetables provide to the body.

· Eat whole soy foods frequently such as tofu, roasted soybeans, soy milk and miso, as these reduce the risk of breast cancer.
