Let’s cut the hype and misinformation about calories and weight loss once and for all. If you want to know “How many to lose weight,” you’re asking the wrong question. What you need to know is exactly what types of foods you should eat e when.

Weight loss is NOT about reducing your calorie intake to a certain number. If it were that easy, low calorie diets and starvation methods would work wonders. They don’t. If you’ve tried these methods and failed, you know what I mean.

When you reduce your daily calories, your metabolism quickly adjusts to your new caloric intake. For example, if you reduce your daily calorie intake to a measly 1000 calories, your metabolism will adjust by burning only 1000 calories. As soon as you increase your calorie intake (and you will) your body will still be regulated to burn only 1000 calories. So if you increase your calories to 1500 (which isn’t a lot), those 500 extra calories won’t be burned…and will be stored as fat.

See the problem with the low calorie approach? You can’t win.

Instead, you have to eat more frequently, but more importantly, you have to eat different types of calories at different time intervals each day. The different types of calories confuse your metabolism and it never gets a chance to adjust. You will burn all the calories you eat.

Of course this doesn’t give you license to overeat, but you’d be surprised at how much tasteful food you can eat once you learn the correct food combinations and patterns.

Remember, it’s not about how many calories to lose weight, it’s about what types of foods to eat and when. This is a natural and enjoyable way to eat and does not require you to go on a weird diet or starve yourself.
