How to Care For Orphaned Guinea Pigs in Five Easy Steps
There is nothing more frustrating than seeing the person responsible for taking care of an orphaned baby if its mother dies or refuses to breastfeed for any reason. Although it takes time and commitment, don’t be afraid – it’s something you CAN do.
Equipment you will need:
- Shoe box
- water bottle
- Insulation materials such as towels, old socks, etc

- Wash clothes
- Scales – either postal or kitchen scales to weigh the child
- Weight control chart
- Specialty foods such as Oxbow Critical Care (available from your veterinarian)
