But what exactly is the relationship between menopause and weight gain, and how can it be prevented?

First, we need to understand that the weight gain associated with menopause is not due to poor diet. While it can sometimes be a reason as well, hormones are still the biggest culprit. When the ovaries finish their cycle, there will be a sudden imbalance in our body. The hormonal balance will be confused and it will take months to bring it back to normal. During those months, we may gain weight uncontrollably.

But the good thing about this is that we can still do some ways on how to prevent weight gain or at least keep ourselves healthy.

The first thing we can do is change our lifestyle. When we were younger, we may have enjoyed taking our health easy because we think we are quite healthy. But when menstruation comes, we have to be very careful. We must start a healthy diet. This means that eating only the essential foods is good for the body. Start eating fresh fruits and vegetables in larger quantities. Eat more protein foods like fish.

In addition to diet, we also need to stay active. Regular exercise will keep us fit. This doesn’t mean training to shrug off the extra weights. But it will be more like keeping the body healthy. We really don’t need to stay slim. All we have to do is prevent the weight from gaining more and more. Your previous weight should stay that way and not starve or force yourself to lose weight.

Diet and exercise are good. Adding some herbal treatments will be better. There are herbal medicines that help prevent the onset of menopause symptoms. They help relieve the main symptoms which also include weight gain. That way, we won’t have to worry about being disturbed by it.

The relationship between menopause and weight gain is sometimes not really uncontrollable, but if we take care of ourselves, then we can get rid of it. Always try to age gracefully and healthily.
