What do you think? Are you careful about the thoughts you create in your mind? What results do you want to achieve: an average, good fortune or do you want to live a unique and extraordinary life?
Well, what I have to say is hard to hear but hey, something needs to be said. Most people answer “of course it’s an extraordinary life, with love, health, money and happiness”, but what they really think is “an ordinary life, with hatred, sickness, sorrow and envy”
How can I say this? Just look around you. Just listen to the media and read the statistics about our society. Let’s look at two of them and see if people really want to be healthy and happy or think right.
Fact #1: The US spends more on fast food each year than on movies, books, videos and records combined. Americans spent over 110 billion dollars on burgers, fried chicken, and the like in 2000.
Fact #2: In a 1-year period, 9.5% of the population or approximately 20.9 million American adults suffer from a depressive disorder.
Fact #3: 1 in 5 women in the United States suffer from depression.
Fact #4: Less than 15% of people are actually happy with the quality of life they live – that means 85% of them aren’t!
Fact #5: The number of minutes per week parents spend in meaningful conversation with their children is, prepare for a heart attack, 3.5 minutes.
Fact #6: The average number of minutes per week children watch TV, preparing for second and fatal heart attacks, is 1,680 minutes, or 4 hours per day. I read some statistics that say 7.5 hours a day.
Sorry, no need to move on. Needless to say, people cultivate hatred, sickness, sorrow and envy in their heads. They all cultivate horrible thoughts. How do you want good thoughts to produce bad results? Likewise, how do you want negative thoughts to produce a great life, full of joy, health, wealth and happiness?
There is an old scripture that says you will know them by their fruit. The Bible says: “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, and a bad tree does not bear good fruit; but every tree is known by its fruit. A good man brings forth good from the good store of his heart; and the wicked bring forth evil from the evil treasures of his heart.
