I’m sure no one lied but even if they did, who could blame them? The health of millions of fellow Americans and their children is not their concern when the fortunes of dozens of Americans are at stake.
Of course, now that the cat is out of the bag and there is mounting evidence that fructose and high fructose HFCS are harmful to human health, I’m sure the politicians will be overjoyed to be honest. their behavior knowing that if they don’t, the rest of us will know exactly where they stand in the face of a straightforward choice between our good and their own profit.
Fructose is a type of sugar found in sweetened beverages and junk food. Eating foods high in them has been shown to raise blood pressure in men. Two recent studies have provided evidence that it helps raise blood pressure and another study has provided strong evidence that people who eat junk food and drink sugary drinks at night can lose weight faster than those who do not eat.
Fructose is far from the only thing that raises blood pressure of course (for example the shenanigans of the food industry sometimes raise mine) but if you have high blood pressure or wish to avoid high blood pressure, you can it is possible to think that you are not poisoning yourself with fructose or the name HFCS.

It is a fact of life that all sugars can cause health problems and fructose is the worst of them all. Some of the negative effects caused by the body’s overdose of sugar – with fructose being the worst – are diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, an increase in LDL (bad) cholesterol. and heart disease.
And now we can add high blood pressure to the list, a serious health problem that can cause heart disease and increase the risk of stroke.
One of the easiest ways to obtain fructose is to extract it from corn and this ease of production has made it even more popular. (Now there’s a surprise!)
Until thirty to forty years ago, sucrose was the main source of sugar, from sugar or sugar cane, but the use of sugar derived from corn – especially HFCS – in food has been exploded ever since.

It’s gotten so bad that nine percent of the energy from food in the United States for example comes from fructose – the equivalent of nearly one-tenth of all the foods you eat that contain pure sugar!
It’s no wonder then that there is an epidemic of obesity and all the health problems that come with it. The only surprising thing is that those in the government who are supposed to protect citizens from selling poison under the guise of food are not doing much; although citizens (or at least those who don’t want to be fat or unhealthy) can do a lot to protect themselves. Maybe just stop buying fructose products or not vote for politicians who neglect the interests of the people.
When we think about it, if some group put in the water supply some chemicals that caused the same damage, we would see it as what the national enemy is doing. A toxic tobacco product of similar size must carry at least a health warning and at least the freedom of tobacco manufacturers to advertise their toxic product. Why are the rules for fructose and HFCS different?
It’s also worth noting briefly that obesity is not the health problem associated with the pure calorie bomb with no nutrients called HFCS. It also damages organs such as the liver and pancreas, causing bone loss, anemia and the aforementioned heart disease, among others.
Is that enough?
Well you’re probably thinking (I hope) by now that you want to avoid fructose.
Well, consider that the average American drinks 60 gallons (sic) of soda a year, while one extra can a day can add up to 15 pounds of weight in a year. Nothing to lose but the pounds!!
Since HFCS is also found in many processed foods, you can treat yourself to one easy hit by stopping all fast food or sugary drinks. To be able to completely avoid fructose, except for the small amount consumed by eating moderate and safe fruits, (which is ideal), you need to change if you can to whole foods. Also go easy on the juices and start drinking lots of good H20 or green tea.
How well you understand this depends on your determination to recover and your circumstances, but in general, the more you can achieve in this area, the better your health will be.
If you absolutely must break the noshi-do warrior’s holy code and eat processed foods from time to time, just check the label before you buy and skip what HFCS is in it.
And don’t be fooled by artificial sweeteners either. They are even worse for you than HFCS! So diet soda is also out.
Fortunately, fructose doesn’t seem to be as hard to kick as coffee or nicotine, so anyone with moderate willpower should be able to manage it by mopping floors and chewing carpet.
If you think about it, chewing the carpet may be less than fructose.
