The Skinny on Fat Loss

World and US Stats

The world’s population continues to grow at an alarming rate and the United States is at the forefront of this movement. Most sources, including the CDC, state that approximately 68% of Americans are obese. Of these 68%, more than 30% are obese. In 1962, that number was just 13%. American women currently weigh 163 lbs. Men contribute to the leadership of the obesity category by only 70%. That’s 68.3 million American men who are obese. US numbers used to undercut world statistics but not anymore. The rest of the world is catching up. Over 60% of people in the world are now obese.

The history of fat loss/loss

Scientific studies since the 1940s have suggested that a diet high in fat is responsible for high cholesterol, heart disease and obesity. The subsequent hypothesis was that eating a low-fat diet would have the opposite effect and promote lower cholesterol, good health and a slimmer body. It seems reasonable to conclude that if we don’t put fat into our bodies, we will stop accumulating it. The pre-existing fat will naturally be burned over time and we will lose weight. Even the US Attorney General embraced and supported this idea and the “fat diet” generation was born. Americans moved away from protein and fat foods and started eating foods full of carbohydrates. Hey, carbs, isn’t that the same as sugar? With the body now full of carbs there is plenty of energy to fuel the metabolism. The only problem is that carbs burn first and more easily than fat. With so much carbon in the body, fat doesn’t stand a chance. Instead, stop and gather. Therefore, in the last 45 years, the world’s population has increased dramatically while trying to decrease.

Came with Dr. Atkins. At first, he strongly resisted. But he stands out in his conclusion that high carb consumption is the primary contributor to not only obesity, but diabetes as well. And while his diet was what SNL joked was a heart attack diet, it lowered cholesterol levels because it was carb-free, burning fat. I personally lost 30 lbs. on this diet in 6 weeks. The problem with the “no carb / low carb” diet is not applicable. They leave a person feeling tired and cramped. So it is usually thrown away over time.

Somewhere between the Attorney General and Dr. Atkins, the Calorie Counter concluded that by eating fewer calories than the body burns on a normal day, fat burning is guaranteed. However, this assumption also failed. We now know that when fewer calories are consumed, the body’s metabolism changes to burn fewer calories.

Some people have success with Jenny Craig and other similar weight loss programs but achieving lasting results is both expensive and restrictive. So, as with the Atkins diet, many have gone astray over time.

So where does that leave us? Don’t give up! Learned a lot.

The new era of fat loss/loss

What has been learned so far seems to be that the key to fat loss resides in the brain. It is widely believed that the brain sends signals (endorphins) that can cause fat burning or fat storage. Signals sent to speed up metabolism will cause fat to burn, while signals sent to slow metabolism will prevent it. Therefore, the new emphasis is on controlling, or manipulating, these signals, and ultimately, metabolism. There are many variations of this theory, but almost everyone agrees that the signals sent by the brain are the most important.

Two popular diets that achieve fat loss by manipulating the metabolism are: Fat Loss 4 Idiots, and Strip That Fat. By eating certain foods at the right time and at the right time, and by constantly keeping the body guessing about what’s to come, these diets have achieved high levels of success. Bodybuilders familiar with Tony Horton know about the “muscle disruption” technique to overcome muscle plateaus. Tony found that the key to maintaining profit is to keep the guessing muscle. Muscle memory is what prevents bodybuilders from continuing to make gains to a certain point if they do the same exercises over and over again. Muscles need to be repeatedly stimulated, or shocked, to break down and grow more than before. This is achieved by constantly changing the routine. Muscles receive new shocks and growth continues. In a similar way, Fat Loss 4 Idiots and Strip That Fat uses “metabolism confusion” to keep the fat burning and prevent the body from adjusting the diet, aka – plateau loss, or, memory metabolism. This is why many diets work early but do not produce results. Strip That Fat reports that exercise will trick the brain into releasing fat-fighting endorphins even while you sleep.

Another popular diet has a different concept of what causes these symptoms. Dr. Suzanne Gudakunst of Top Secret Fat Loss Secret agrees that brain signals affect fat burning and storage but from a different perspective. He concluded that plaque and harmful parasites in our bodies make us fat and sick. Parasites trigger the brain to release fat-storing endorphins to maintain food reserves because parasites feed on fat. And the plaque is a weight gained from the parasites that live and die in us over the years. For the protection of Dr. Suzanne John Wayne is determined to have 44 lbs. the undigested fat in his intestines at the time of his death. And this situation probably caused his death. Top Secret Fat Loss Secret attacks fat loss by removing parasites and plaque, and in doing so restores normal brain function and improves overall health.
