However, despite the worldwide demand for the need to lose weight, achieving it is not so easy. Aside from your determination, motivation is an important factor in keeping you going in times when you are on the verge of giving up. This is a form of hope and a share for you. So even though it’s hard, as I lose weight and gain motivation, you can find different ways on how to get one.

1) Set a goal

Your goals must be realistic and time-limited. If it isn’t, then you will be frustrated instead. Goals are a great way to keep us on track. Knowing what you want can help you find ways to get there. Your desire to lose weight should be a simple goal to keep you motivated along the way. It can also be as specific as the pounds you want to lose in a certain amount of time, clothing sizes from extra large to small, and your BMI, from above normal to normal. Never make an impossible goal, you must remember that.

You can also use a journal to lose weight. A diary of what to eat, planned exercises and positive thoughts for the day. Those things that you put in your journal can be looked back on when you are depressed or turned off.

2) Find support

The support of people who care about you and who care a lot about you is the most important tool for motivation. Stay surrounded by family and friends. Tell them you want to lose weight. Make sure it’s really your advocates and not your depressors who will help you get really motivated to lose weight.

Try browsing an old photo of yourself when you were even slimmer and sexier. Find as many images as possible and place them somewhere in your room, mirror, lockers, bedside tables and even consider them as wallpaper in your laptop or computer. With this, you will be able to help keep you going.

5) Reward yourself

If you have been so persistent and consistent in your diet and exercise and have finally lost the desired pounds over a period, give yourself a reward in the form of purses, clothes, shoes, a movie marathon, a spa, etc. something that can hinder your desire to lose weight such as foods and drinks.

6) Punish yourself

When you can’t shed the pounds you have in your goals and you’ve been consistently so bad with your diet and exercise, punish yourself in some form of TV, iPod restriction, or computer restriction. Punishing yourself is one way that can help you realize that being crappy enough isn’t going to get you anywhere.

7) Track your progress

Keep a journal with you that you can use to list everything you’ve accomplished in a week, months, and years. Seeing your written result is a great motivation. If you can see your progress correctly, go ahead and it will keep you going, but if you see your progress going in the wrong direction, change your routines and check your diet whether it is sufficient or not.

8) Learn from others

Learning from people with weight loss success stories is also a great motivator. There are truly thousands of people who have been in your situation and lost weight. By reading their stories from internet source, magazine or book, you can get healthy tips and advice that you can also apply to yourself to lose weight.
