After I realized that my weight gain was not due to a simple “lack of self-discipline” misconception, I took myself to a psychologist to help me understand why I gained weight in the first place. Here’s the thing: If you’re desperate to lose weight forever and have been struggling with your weight for a long time, I’d say you’re an emotional eater, and not until you start addressing this factor first. You are finally going to succeed in losing your weight once and for all.
When people experience some kind of emotional trauma in childhood (it doesn’t have to be a big deal; it can be something small, like something you’ve rejected anyway), many turn to food for comfort and nourishment. , especially if the family dynamics are a bit dysfunctional, or in some cases, parents may be upset, which may turn the child to comfort food.
