Eat Carbs to Lose Weight

Most people I know are constantly on diets! But when someone told me to eat carbs to lose weight I thought it couldn’t be true! After all the global war being thrown against carbs I used to believe that if you were on a serious diet you had to leave carbs out of the equation. This led me to see if it was possible to eat carbs and lose weight at the same time.

The really bad reputation of carbohydrates suffered the final blow when all the low and carb diets emerged. They were made responsible for every overweight person and sent to the hospital as a whole! If you happened to admit that you ate carbs, you were looked at as an ignorant fellow with minutes to live!

Like everything else in life, exaggeration is the real reason behind many errors. Carbohydrates are essential and valuable as the primary source of energy for the human body. When modern people started to move away from traditional balanced diet and eating carbohydrates was 80% of daily calories, problems appeared and many serious health problems.

If someone wants to eat carbohydrates to lose weight there should be a balance in protein, fat and carbohydrate intake. A diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals and all nutrients without throwing away a whole group of foods and overeating something else to compensate. If you don’t eat carbohydrates, you need to eat more protein and fat to get the energy your body needs, leading to an imbalance and accumulation of ketone bodies.

So to lose weight you should consume carbohydrates. But not just carbohydrates. You should eat protein, good quality fat and plenty of fiber. The hardest part of dieting is keeping those extra pounds off! I know there are many fake miracle diets that promise 20 pounds in 20 hours! And they can work! It’s unhealthy and the truth is it won’t last!

As long as you stick to a healthy program, get in some form of exercise (remember texting and joypads are only good for the fat around your thumbs!) and eat a balanced diet plus you’ll need carbs to lose weight. Like everything else.
