Fad diets are short-lived because you usually have to stop eating certain types of foods or eat a combination of “special” foods. Therefore, you will get fewer calories than usual. 3. Limit intake of saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol and sodium.

4. Avoid too much sugar. Foods high in sugar are usually high in calories and low in nutrients.

5. Limit liquid calories. Avoid sugary soda, alcohol and juice (choose whole fruit instead).

6. Be specific about your food portion. Use the nutrition label to determine what a serving size is.

7. Exercise regularly. Any exercise that you enjoy and never get bored of is the best exercise in the world for you. Aim for 30 to 60 minutes, 4 to 6 times a week.

8. Be more physically active in your daily life. Park further away so you have time to walk or take the stairs.

In our efforts to lose weight, pills, supplements or special exercise/diet plans really don’t matter. The best thing you can ever have is a good set attitude. Determination, will and perseverance are all you need to keep your weight loss efforts alive and on track.
