Most people will have a different response or reaction to the same product, therefore getting different results. The fact is that any diet plan could work as long as you are committed and stick to your goal of healthy eating, exercising, selecting the right and correct amount of foods. The secret to losing weight is to apply discipline and more discipline but don’t yell just yet, because every day and in every way, you just get better and better and better. Now you can smile.
Now that you’re smiling, I’d like to introduce you to some simple tips that will help you create your own diet plan and avoid the mistakes most dieters make in achieving their desired weight loss goals. However, please take me seriously, I’ve been there, done it, and you can too; make unhealthy eating and being overweight a thing of the past.
The first step in the diet should be a visit to your GP, explain your intention to lose weight and your goal plan to achieve it; discuss the foods you will be using in your diet and also the foods you plan to cut out of your life and what exercise you have decided to start with. The sole purpose of visiting your doctor is to lay everything out on the table and find out how it will impact your health before proceeding.
The second step in the diet is to enlighten yourself on the foods you have been consuming on a daily basis. On a sheet of paper, honestly list the foods you eat and drink, make the two columns of advantages and disadvantages by listing the corresponding calories or daily intake of the food. Replace all unhealthy foods that are high in calories and excessively saturated fat in the disadvantage column with healthy, low-calorie foods that are high in nutrition, monounsaturated fatty acids, and fiber. This mindfulness method, the habit of checking what kinds of foods you eat on a daily basis, will allow you to control your calorie intake at the end of the day. You can always adjust your food intake the next day if you ate too much the previous day.
The third step in dieting is choosing the correct foods to eat, I’m not a dietician but there are some types of food that will never make it into my kitchen cupboard or refrigerator again. For example, I love ice cream, but it once got me in trouble with my weight. Some of you might empathize with me on this, but the point I’m trying to make is that when you indulge in foods that you like very sweet, fatty, or processed, etc., the results could cause irreversible health problems. This is the reason to attack your indulgence by any means necessary and if you have to keep it off the kitchen cabinets? Then so be it because failing to address your unhealthy eating habits will ultimately lead to heart and liver problems, possibly more. Therefore, make a commitment to change by choosing healthy foods, such as whole-grain gains and nuts, veggies, fruits, and lean meats. Avoiding eating too much red meat is my personal take on staying healthy.
There is an old Chinese proverb that says “harvest like a bird, run like a deer”, which perhaps complements our theory here in the Western Hemisphere which says “eat six small meals a day and stay fit and healthy”. Here comes the question, what if I’m hungry between meals? Here is the answer, “pick like a bird by gorging on fruit, veg sticks, healthy snacks” but don’t try to run like a deer too soon, I’ve never been able to run as fast as a deer but I have managed to move a mountain on the opposite side once, i don’t think i will try again because i changed my eating habits, now i pick like a bird.
