  • Don’t eat for taste, eat for sustenance. Eating for taste leads you to eat not only unhealthy meals but also larger meals. So try to eat for energy so you can get on with your day and carry on your work each day.

  • Get off the couch every day, walk, go for a walk with your kids, or walk your dogs, or walk with your partner. A simple walk every day can burn up to 250 calories and goes towards your health and fitness goals. You don’t have to keep walking, maybe you can do what you like, play tennis with a friend if you like, or run or play touch rugby. Whatever gets you off the couch and gets you physical, do it. The funnier the better.

  • Avoid sugary drinks. Instead, drink raw fruit. Invest in a juicer. Also drink plenty of water.

  • Vegetarians have a better chance of losing weight than meat eaters. You don’t have to become a vegetarian, but you can go meat-free for a week or two and see if doing so helps you lose weight. For most people, avoiding meat for a few days helps. When no meat is eaten, most people eat less than they normally would. This can help a lot towards your goal of losing weight.

The strategies above will help you improve your health and fitness in just ten days. Once you are motivated enough, you can then begin a formal diet and exercise program to help you achieve your fitness goals.
