Soy proteins are of plant origin and overall are easily digested. While whey protein is milk based and is rapidly absorbed. Now, even if it hasn’t been in your system for a long time, it’s great to drink after your mighty workout! Protein is essential for building muscle, and muscle burns calories! So, kicking off your day with a mega-blast of proper low-calorie nutrition in a convenient protein shake can help up your energy levels, shed those unwanted extra calories, all while helping our bodies replace fat with caloric muscles. The overall beauty of protein shakes is that they can be filling, nutritious, and delicious. Imagine that; tastes great and you lose weight!

While this is certainly great news, we all just need to “Keep It Real”… we need to eat nutritious meals, exercise, drink LOTS of water, and get our bodies to rest enough. I recommend eating 5 to 6 meals a day and 2 to 3 small HEALTHY snacks in between. Replacing 1 or 2 of those meals with a tasty, nutrient-rich, usually low-calorie smoothie can really contribute to weight loss.

Is balance really important?

The answer is a resounding YES!!!! Let’s face it. Everyone’s weight loss goal should be about SANA weight loss. And exclusively consuming extremely high amounts of protein WITHOUT the proper amounts of other nutrients and, yes, even carbohydrates can take a toll on your body. And too much protein can be very harmful to your kidneys. So make sure you eat lots of fruits and vegetables. FRESH fruits and vegetables, that is. I also recommend that your protein shake be packed with vitamins and minerals.
