Why Is Obesity Growing Out Of Proportion?

According to some statistics, almost a third of people in the Western world are overweight or obese and the rate is increasing. This trend seems to be continuing but people are only eating into obesity, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. We ask ourselves: Where does obesity come from? What is the reason for this, why is it almost an epidemic? There are many causes of obesity although diet is the main cause.

It cannot be denied that society itself has become a weight problem and some of the consequences are beginning to manifest in the form of many diseases. Chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease and all that come are an open invitation to obesity. Not to say that everything was rosy in the 1960s, but the direct approach was different. In our own work-related world there is always some kind of system we use or operate; our bodies also work on a system. Our bodies have an energy system that must be at least the same; that means your energy in is equal to your energy out. The energy that enters your body is the calories you get from food and drink. The energy that comes out of your body, used for physical activity. To maintain a healthy weight, your energy intake and output must be in balance. It doesn’t mean that you have to balance every day exactly but it has to be on average. If there is more energy going in each day than going out, it means weight gain. Energy released due to energy over time means loss.

The body has the system but it is up to us to take advantage of it. Losing weight is simply down to burning more calories than you take in. In other words, eat less and exercise more. When it comes to snacking, it can play a big role in your success or failure in losing weight.

Every household has one: Television is a good example of people getting fat, by constantly approaching the most unhealthy snacks, and watching television makes them fat. It also starts at an early age with marketing strategies aimed at influencing and exploiting children through packaging and advertising.

Eating can have a purpose for some. The purpose of snacking is to remove the edge of hunger between meals. As long as it’s in moderation and doesn’t exceed your calorie needs for the day. A proper snack means eating a small nutrient-dense meal to give your body energy to help you through an hour or two before your next meal. Snacking can be beneficial; unfortunately most of them are wrong or for the wrong reasons. It can start from boredom, stress, anger, depression, frustration, etc. When eating without intention, it is common to make poor choices and use unhealthy foods.

Do it right and eat once or twice a day, between big meals and when you’re hungry. You should choose foods rich in protein and/or fiber, as they provide more satiety, and also be aware of the amount. You may have noticed that dinner plates and containers have grown in size and portions over the years. Following decades of incorrect dietary advice is not helping the weight situation. The food eaten in the seventies was natural, which contained natural fats that had nutritional value, and obesity was not a problem.

Obesity is a concern because it is the cause of many health conditions. The main cause of weight gain that can lead to diabetes and heart disease is sugar, processed carbohydrates and processed foods in general. Back in the seventies, health experts told us that salt was the cause of stress and high blood pressure; in some cases this is still believed today. High salt intake has little or no effect on blood pressure or heart disease. Salt is not dangerous, sugar and fructose are, although “do not” use processed table salt. Fructose is the sugar found in everything from corn syrup, soft drinks and juices, and most processed foods.

Obesity ages the liver. What this means is that if you are overweight, your liver will age faster than your body. If you are overweight or obese, you may want to focus on more liver-friendly foods. Change to fermented foods, many herbs, cinnamon, turmeric, fennel, cayenne, pepper, coriander, ginger, cumin etc.

This is where most people run into trouble. An uncontrolled appetite is difficult to overcome. The digestive organs and stomach are already enlarged due to eating more than usual which sends a message to the brain to get more food. At this point, the urge to eat is stronger than your will.

What is the answer, how to get more power? One way to do this is to reduce cravings. Once the need is gone, you are in control of this situation. This can be done by taking natural supplements or stimulants to curb food cravings; it works.

Reversing your hunger cues to lose unwanted weight is made simpler with the elimination of the potential need to deal with obesity and weight gain.
