So what’s the best way to lose fat and gain muscle? Well, it depends on how far you are willing to take your new fitness venture and how far you are willing to go. The bottom line is that exercise and a healthy diet are key to shedding those pounds and creating that flirty/strong body. Problems then start to happen, it’s when you start a routine but after a few days or weeks you seem to lose focus and can’t keep eating healthy and working out. So how to maintain a routine? Well, as you are reading this article, you are actually burning energy at the moment, not much, but there is some kind of exercise. In your everyday life you are burning energy, whether you are going to the bathroom, sitting in your chair or going to get something from the printer. Everything you do burns a certain amount of energy. So now how do you use the duties of daily life to help you lose weight and build muscle?

First, figure out what you do a lot with your body in your daily life and try making it a little but more challenging. By that I mean I’m a computer developer and most of my day I sit and type code to produce websites and applications. So my hands and arms are used the most. Then sit with additional weights on my arms to make it more challenging, and at the end of the day, there’s a huge difference with my arms.

As for food, it is difficult to follow a strict diet, so how can one overcome a bad eating habit. The answer is simple, replace bad food habits with good tasty habits. Nuts are a great source of energy, and just a little can fill you up a lot. Also the best way to learn how to eat something that isn’t that tasty but is high in nutrients and low in fat, eat it when you’re extremely hungry. I never eat avocados due to their weird taste, but after a long day and having nothing to eat, eating that avocado as a food relief has been life changing and extremely tasty!

Below are my top 10 tips on how to lose fat and gain muscle.

  1. Make daily activities more challenging, add extra body weights to make casual activities more challenging.
  2. Stay away from ready meals and fast food.
  3. Eat when you’re hungry and not when it’s your usual time to eat.
  4. Find things you enjoy doing and do them more often. (I like to climb positions, so I set myself new challenges and once I win a challenge, I try to conquer it again, only much faster.)
  5. Set goals and challenges.
  6. Achieving a goal or completing a challenge you set for yourself brings out satisfaction and a thirst for new challenges.
  7. Try new things you’ve never tried before, food or exercise.
  8. Find friends or family to join you.
  9. Follow your diet/exercise plan and stick to it.
  10. Last but not least, never give up on anything you feel.
