2009 Resolutions For the 2 and 4-Legged Family Members!

Christmas 2008 is gone and New Years 2009 is upon us. It’s time to make promises, especially when it comes to achieving a healthy weight and eating better in general. With Red Deer venison, you can help keep those Resolutions. It is 96-98% lean and raised without antibiotics, no added hormones, no comfort, and no drugs.

With many health problems the Doctor will tell you – “no red meat”. For many of us that takes away a large part of our enjoyment of food and the pleasure of our palate. There are those who would rather give up chocolate or other desserts than give up red meat. Venison is very rare, especially if you show your doctor about Bur Oaks. In fact, all the people who brought our information to their Doctor were told to eat the deer meat. We even knew a man who developed a headache after eating beef and pork, and was told to eat no meat except poultry. He ate beef or pork 3 times a day. It is very difficult for him, because he raises cattle and loves his meat. He can eat it once a week and he doesn’t get a headache, but not more than that or he can’t handle a migraine. We talked him into trying Bur Oaks Venison – no migraines and no other problems. Our bodies are amazing machines that can tell us a lot if we just listen.

This brings up another topic that is near and dear to my heart, our pets (dogs and cats). Many households get bigger this holiday season with pets. It is very important to know how to keep them healthy. I include a rating system for your dog’s food at the bottom of this blog. You start with 100 points and see how many points your dog food gets. You might be surprised. I became acutely aware of many dog health issues when I started getting calls about feeding our leaves and soil to pets.

Their vet told them they need “natural” and “venison” to eat because their pets are allergic to dog food (many eat raw, lose hair, etc.). This can happen and it can happen to many livestock because they cannot take the seed, because of additional chemicals, additional coloring, or the meat, which can and often comes from dead animals from manufacturing plants. These companies take in animals that die of disease. This includes animals that have been euthanized or given various drugs, with no remains. All these deadly drugs and chemicals are thrown away. Eating it once may not be enough to make a dog sick or kill it, but feeding it to the animal continuously will cause the body to react, the kidneys and liver cannot get rid of all these pollutants. We have 4 happy customers. So, before you have any problems, please take the dog food test and make sure you are feeding a lot of food. Keep them happy and healthy.

Let’s all make a Health Resolution for 2009!

If you’ve ever dined at America’s finest restaurant and ordered Venison, or seen it on the menu, I’m pretty sure it’s Red Deer.

If you have been to Europe and dined in one of the best restaurants, you would have seen Venison, which could be Red Deer, Monarch of the Mountain, Red Stag, Stag, or sometimes called Red Elk in Europe. In New Zealand, Red Deer Venison is called “Cervena” after the name given to the meat.
